Zero to adopted: what it actually takes to ship an internal tool
Building Enterprise Tools (Zero to Adopted)Learning to Code as a Strategist
Internal tools die in the gap between 'this is clever' and 'this is how we do it here'. I have watched better-built tools than mine quietly stop being opened.
What worked: pick one team's live deadline and make the tool the fastest path through it. Ship something embarrassing early. Own the data model harder than the interface.
Learning to code changed how I write strategy, too. Once you have shipped something that breaks in front of a client, you stop writing recommendations that only work on a slide.
